It is a beautiful picture and enhances the wonders of Kilimanjaro, which is the highest free standing mountain in the world. However, since Kilimajaro is SOUTH of the equator, (2°45'–3°25'S, 37°00'–37°43'E - Google Earth), the pole seen in the picture would have to be the SOUTH celestial pole. The north celestial pole is always below the horizon from Kilimanjaro, and indeed from all over Tanzania.
